Exhaust

Just bought a 02 SS and I was wondering which exhaust was the best for the car. I want something that will give me a good deep exhaust note but not raspy. thanks guys,,,,

Re: Exhaust

A pre-axle dump dual setup with an X pipe would get you a great sound, and it would be the best setup to go with if you plan on getting headers in the future.

Re: Exhaust

I probably wont go with headers. I think I might just stay with a catback system. The car is fast enough and I dont plan on dumping to much into the performance of this car. I really just want something that is going to make the car a little meaner sounding.

Re: Exhaust

I just put on a Texas Speed rumbler catback on my car. Sounds good and CHEAP $199 good quality too. (old car sounded better though )

Re: Exhaust

In my opinion you get what you pay for.

Borla and LT Headers will give you a nice deep drone. That's what I have and I am happy with it. Exhaust sound is all opinion.

IMO Borla or stock.

Re: Exhaust

Borla's pretty overrated IMO. The system just looks weird to me. 1 pipe that exits without a muffler and one that does? How does it not sound like crap?

a bullet muffler and a 3" pipe will solve your little catback problem.

Because using the muffler is optional, those plates DO work. however, most people bypass the muffler.

Yeah that would be great if you could let me know what you think when you get the system installed...

Re: Exhaust

Don't buy any cat-back system until you've heard the GMMG. It's not cheap, but it's something you'll appreciate every time you fire up the car.

Re: Exhaust

If all you want is a better exhaust tone and arn't concerned with upgradability, you could get a Dynomouth setup, which is just a Dynomax bullet muffler in your I pipe, a removal of the stock muffler, and a fabbed Y pipe connecting the rest of your exhaust.

16" bullet is $35 from Summit Racing, fab work i've heard is somewhere in the neighborhood of $100.

Then you can get tips and have them fab those in as well.
