exhaust????????

Real quick question, I have a 2000 trans am and i was think about getting a full exhaust system put on with long tube headers also. I was just wondering which long tube headers would be the best, and which exhaust system would also be to good to get. My friend has a 1999 trans am with slp loud mouth exhaust and slp long tube headers, and i think it sounds like ***, it sounds to raspy and crackly, I do not want that. I am looking for a car that is loud as hell without the raspy sound. Thank You.

I have a 2000 A4. I installed borla cat-back the first week I had it. It sounded awesome then and now I have MAC LTs, ported heads, cam, MAF, throttle body. It still sounds awesome. The good thing I think about it is that it comes with an adjustable cut-out system.Expensive but nice.

You have MAC midlength headers, MAC doesnt make LT's.

granted i don't have longtubes, but i have a bassani orp and a magnaflow muffler and it sounds BADASS around town, below 3K rpms

since it doesn't have the cats it gets a bit raspy above that, but if i'm racing i really don't care. any of the good mufflers will give you a nice aggressive tone. but since the LM has no muffler that is why it is so raspy.

Search for sound clips of various setups. Decide whether you want sound or performance because some do not flow very well but sound great.

I have FLP LT's with the hooker cat back it sounds pretty pissed and none of that raspy sound, my buddy has a 00 T/A with SLP LT's and flowmaster exhasut and its extremely raspy and sounds horrible, IMO or maybe he didnt install somthin right, but i love my hooker exhaust and its really loud and sounds great, once again IMO

I have SLP LTs, high-flow cats, Y, and dual-dual catback on my 99 A4 Z28. I like the sound a lot. The car is deeper, but not loud at idle, but it comes to life above 2000rpm (still not nearly as loud as loudmouth without cats). The only problem with SLP is that the headers hang low. If you are lowered, DO NOT get these headers. I would say there is about a 3-4" clearance now on my stock-height car at the cats/Y.

True Duals with LTs and high flow cats with bullet mufflers. Nice deep sound, no rasp
