Exact differences as to why the LS6 intake makes more power.

I believe that if you could actually open up the LS1 intake and port it that the LS6 intake would not be such a popular mod, but we can't easily do this. There's no question that the LS6 intake makes more power, but does anyone know why? I'm sure no one has cross-sectioned a $400 intake and compared it to a cross section of an LS1, but nonetheless I am curious.

Share what you have. I understand that it "flows better", and I'm hoping to get a little deeper than this.

Are the runners just larger? Better transitions?

Plenum volume that is a better match for our 346 ci motors. Big cubes need a bigger intake like FAST or ls2

Now, I've read the LS2 does not perform that well on the LS1. Anyone have any input on this statement?

Are our LSx factory intakes ABS plastic?

the ls2 is a horrible intake - i'd keep an ls1 intake over it any day to save up for at least an ls6

Okay, if the LS1 intake was ABS plastic (aka "high impact" plastic) then it can actually be chemically fused together much like pvc/cpvc pipe. I was planning to cut open a stock intake and try to weld it back together from the bottom, but I think I'm going to pull out on this project as I really have too many others anyway.

Anyone want to try this one?
