engine temp question

i just sold my '95 z and bought a 2000 z28 m6.

once the car warms up and im driving....it stays around the 210º mark...right in the middle.

is this normal?? the previous owner had the water pump replaced while still under warrenty. im thinking they put in the wrong thermostat. i though ls1's had 180º thermostats.

can some1 let me know if i need to go buy another stat?

thanks.

nope that sounds right where mine sits. If it stays there and doesn't go past 210 then its fine. 180 is ideal thats why some people change thermostats

yes i have a 2001 ws6 and it always at 210 its a dummy gauge
98 was the last year that they actualy read right. i have a 160 thermo and a hpp3 so i can set he fan to come on at 160 and the gauge still says 210. only worry if it goes above 210.

Yep, Thats normal for the position of the guage but its probably not the actual temp. I have a predator programmer and I can monitor temp in real time, needless to say that with a 160 stat and fans set to come on early the temp is never as high as the bogus gauge says it is.

missingz - have you done any tunning with your predator or just adjustments like temp?
