Engine belt Q

When I spouse to replace the engine belt?

Is the tension belt already supported with spring in LS1.. or I have to do it myself for new one?

thanks ...

Re: Engine belt Q

I would replace it if you have over 40K miles or so...I replaced both of mine at 25K...nothing wrong with the stockers but I already had them off so I figured why not while I was there...

To take off the belt just take a ratchet wrench and the appropriate socket and put it on the bolt in the center of the tensioner pulley on the passenger side of the engine and put pressure on it (clockwise) and it will give you enough slack to slide the belt off of the tensioner.
