emissions

i would like to run longtubes and true duals out the back with no cats. my problem is i live in MA where they do emissions tests. i heard second hand that if you drain the tank and put in a gallon or two of premium and throw in an octane booster of two, you can pass. this information came from someone who supposedly runs a non-catted big block. does anybody know if this could work?

Re: emissions

might want to leave it on the board for a day or so before you "bump" it...guys get testy about that.

as for the question...i don't think it's possible.

and realize most octane boosters don't do quite what they advertise. when they say "increase your octane by 4 points"...they mean point 4.

so 93 plus booster is 93.4

if you are running just over the legal limit for emissions...running premium and some booster MAY help...but not without cats.

just put some high flow cats on it...

Re: emissions

unless it was on page 2....there was no reason to bump it...

so anyway...i guess the question was answered

Do the emission tests include a sniffer or visual? Here in NY they emission test too but they just plug their computer to the OBDII and look for any emission codes. If that's the case then there is software out there (LS1edit/hptuners) that can fool your cars computer (and thiers) into thinking your compliant.

If you do have to pass a sniffer but not a visual then I recommend Dynatech supermax LT headers. The kit is stainless steel, fits like a glove and comes with high flow cats.

If you have to pass a visual then I suggest you ask fellow car enthusiasts at the closest track where they go. Someone always knows someone who works at X place and is very relaxed with his inspections. May cost you a few bucks but most consider it worth it

Good luck.
