Electrical Silliness

I stopped at the gas station today to fill up. The car had been running great since I changed the plugs and wires this weekend. I started the car after the fill-up and when I pulled onto the road, the electrical system went haywire. All of my gauges flashed on and off, my radar detector kept coming on and going off, and my car felt like it was missing in time with the electrical pulsing. The odometer went off, but never came back on, and after a few minutes, all of my gauges were normal. (Except for the temperature gauge, which was way above 200)

I got home (short drive from the gas station), turned off the car and looked at my cables. Everything seemed fine, so I started the car again and it ran perfectly. Don't know if it was the alternator screwing with me or what.

Anybody have any ideas?

I suspect a loose/dirty alternator or battery connection. How old is your battery? Maybe a short in the electrical, too. Intermittent electrical problems are fun to chase. Good luck and keep us posted.

Mine doesn't do all that but once in a great while when I start it the airbag & check engine light will stay on,so I just shut it off & re start it and it's ok after that.Weird thing is that I took it to the dealership & they said the computer didn't store any codes so they have no idea what it was.
