Which electric cutout?

I am going to be getting an electric cutout soon. I have read bad things about all of the electric cutout. I want one that I wont have any problems with. I know there is the QTEC, McCord, DHM and the flp one. The flp one has a plate that slides across. THis is probably better but I have not heard of anyone using this. I think it goes for $225.Please let me know your opinions on each of these. Ive also heard the QTEC one is a long wait to get.
Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks

McCord and QTEC are the most popular. I have heard they are both good. McCord made a lot of improvements with the MPP2.

I have the QTEC. I love it. It has stopped working twice. Once was cuz i busted the motor by bottoming out on a curb. The other was it just stopped working. The cool thing is, it's out of warranty, but Barry at QTP is fixing it under the warranty anyway. The best customer service in the world. I use mine a lot too. Open and close like 6-8 times a day. Works great.

Let's just say I HAD a DMH E-cutout, but it gave me so many problems I had it fixed one last time and sold it. I now have a QTP cutout, and it is has yet to give me a problem, and working longer than my DMH unit ever did............

I'm going with a Q-Tec when I go the cut-out route. Know a few people that have it. They say the only problem is it leaks, but to me that doesn't seem to bad.

Mine has never leaked. If it is leaking, its probably cuz the gasket was never sealed with enough gasket sealant when it was installed.

wing nut cut outs?

I dont care about spending $200 each or more on a cut out. I have LT goint o 3inch y-pipe to a lm catback. I was thinking of just do the wing nut ones, one each right after the Cats, then on the week ends I could change over if I wanted to or if I go to the track? Input please?

Let's see,

- My first one had 3 motors burn up on it. Yes, 3. After that, Dave sent me a brand new unit.

- Unit #2 lasted about a month, then the motor came loose (2 guys in my car club have had the same problem with their motors coming loose). Loose motor = bent shaft = doesn't work. Had that repaired, and sold the thing because I was sick of dealing with it.

Dave always seemed like a nice about fixing it, and stood behind his product. But, as you can imagine, I was getting sick of sending this thing back. It spent more time unused or getting fixed than it did in use. On average, it never lasted more than a month before needed repaired again.

My QTP cutout has been flawless so far. The wiring setup is a lot better IMO. The motor is on there very solid and isn't going anywhere. I haven't had a single problem with it. It fits just the same as my DMH unit did. It also was less expensive too.

I mean, can you really blame me for giving up on DMH? I paid $170 for a product that failed on me time and again, and I got sick of fixing it. It's not like I didn't give it a chance.

Thumbs up

Here it is. We have had a lot of success with this cutout. A very sturdy unit to say the least.

That sure looks like the Doug's Headers electric cutout.

At $475, you gotta be a freaking crack head to pay that much for an electric cutout.

Also, the length of it could cause a fit problem, especially where a lot of us mount our cutouts.

Regardless, at that price, I'll crawl under my freaking car. I can do 2 electric cutouts for significantly less than that.

I wouldnt pay that much either. Im going to get the qtec. Does the qtec just come with a lighted switch or does it have a switch with a light also separate?
