Re: electric cut-outs
They usually come with all the parts you need to install.
Many of of our supporting advertisers carry them, check out some of them.

not sure if you are clear on what it is:
an electric cutout actually describes only part of what is commonly known as a cutout. first there is the Y that is welded into the exhaust pipe before the muffler/cat, this Y has a flange on one outlet which can be capped or uncapped to allow free flow of exhaust.
the "electric cutout" part of the equation is a separate unit that bolts to the flange of the Y. it has a butterfly valve which is opened by a motor.

Re: electric cut-outs
I have a DMH cutout. It worked great when I got it back in April, then it became stuck in the closed position a couple of weeks ago. I crawled under the car and saw that the wires had been melted by the hot exhaust. This was actually my fault because I should have routed the wires through the rubber grommet under the passenger seat instead of going in under the back passenger seat.
A few days ago I heard a loud clunk from the car after I drove over a bad bump. I looked in the rearview and saw something fly out from under the car. So I pulled over and started to crawl under the car. The electric motor had actually snapped off of the butterfly plate and was in the middle of the road.
So now I have to call up DMH and b!tch at them, I think the part has a 1 year warranty though.

Re: electric cut-outs
I used a McCord for two years until the motor started going on it. I now have a DMH and it is an excellent piece. The only problem I had with it was that some of the bolts came loose and I had to locktite them. The DMH comes with a 4 year warranty.
Re: electric cut-outs
DMH. Never a problem in the past 8 months. Love it. Its got like a 4 year warrenty or something like that. The guys who makes the DMH cutout is very reliable too.

Re: electric cut-outs
Sorry to post my question on here but, I to am looking for some cutouts. My exhaust is stock accept for the Loudmouth catback. Will I need 1 or 2 cutouts? I guess DMH and QTech are just as good as eachother? Also what size will I need? It goes all the way to 4''. Later on I will be adding SLP longtubes to the mods on the car so I dont know if that will make a difference in size or anything. Im so lost, Thx a bunch guys.

A cutout on an LS1 car will be installed in the I pipe after the Y-pipe. People tend to put them under the rear seat area. Stock pipe is 2 3/4" aftermarket catbacks come with 3" pipe so a 3" cutout is what you need in either case.
On rare ocassions some put dual cutouts in the y-pipe after the cats. Then you'd need 2 1/2".
