Did you block off the opening or did you just hack the tube off and left it?

So now you have a big hole in the top of the throttle body right? This will allow unmetered air into the engine, you need to block it off if there is a hole.

Are you talking about cutting the lower portion of the EGR pipe that fits inside the intake? If so it's not sealing properly and you're getting unmetered air which will also throw a code. Loosen it where it connects to the intake and try bending the pipe a little until it seals, and make sure the gasket is set correctly.

Some codes don't set unless it sees a fault for a few ignition cycles, just mentioned it in case it does so you wouldn't be surprised. When a friend of mine did his he pinched the seal and threw one - bending the pipe a little and a good seal made it go away.

Make sure that the quad-ring is still there. Many have had it come out of position when reinstalling the tube and then it gets sucked into and thru the motor (no biggie it won't hurt the motor).

^ yeah.. Or be sure you didn't cut too much off the piping. that will create a nasty vacuum leak.

^ You could JB Weld the spots that were cut too much.. that stuff is great.. just get the liquid so it won't come loose.. rough sand it and clean it to give it something to 'grip' to..
