Exclamation EGR Delete now too lean

I recently removed my EGR, i knew i would get an ses but i had it scanned any way the codes were

P0405/ Egr flow Sensor A Circuit Low Input

P0171/ SYSTEM TOO LEAN (BANK 1)

P0174/ SYSTEM TOO LEAN (BANK 2)

I'm going to install race headers on Thursday and the reason i deleted the EGR so early was because the was a air leak where the EGR meets the intake manifold, so I used a freeze plug for the intake, took the EGR apart and made a gasket so there wasnt an exhaust leak. I was just going to have the codes tuned out but I was worried that because it was too lean should I get a dyno tune? but i really dont have the $500 for that.

I recently disabled my EGR, it's still connected, using HP Tuners and zeroed out the EGR spark advance table. My car is running very lean, at some points the LTFT's are +25 in closed loop. I'm not sure what will fix this... I ran the car in open loop and the max that the LTFT's hit are about +16, car runs alot better but running her in open loop is not a fix.

Try unhooking and blocking off the tube where it goes into the intake.

And why disable the system and leave it on the car?

Why not disable it? I'm going to put headers on the car this winter but 'til then I decided to disable it.

Because it has no detrimental effect on power or economy. I'd just turn it back on until I got my headers.

You are right... but once the physical EGR is gone will I have the same problem? Or will the fact that all of the pipes, hose, etc... all being gone will have no effect on the car.

Once the physical delete is done then the lean problem should go away.
