edelbrock LSX heads

Havent heard ANYTHING about these; and my search for edelbrock cylinder heads brought up everything LT1 related...the main reason I am asking is because Advance Auto Parts sells them, which is where my brother works, which is why I get a 20% discount.....

600/head Xs 2 heads = 1,200 Xs 80% (.80) = $960

1200-960 = 240 = oil pump/timing chain that is also needed...

So thats my logic behind my question; I would assume that by the cheaper price, they probably aren't much better than stock ones

With an appropriate cam, I believe the Edelbrock heads are good for well over 400rwhp.

There's no question that there are better heads out there, though.

thanks; how about reliability? doesnt matter if i only spend 1000 or 3000 on heads; i really want them to be reliable more so than powerful... just got my FAST intake and throttle body today so the parts are going to start trickling in dependent upon my credit limit haha; i've still got at least a month before i will be buying the heads...still researchinggg

Not very many guys around here running the Edelbrocks, so I can't guess at reliability. I'm sure Edelbrock will take care of you if something goes wrong, though.

Personally, if I were getting heads, I think I'd look into a set of ported L92s.

Judging by what I saw at the Edelbrock stand at Maple Grove last summer, those heads appear to be lacking compared to most other aftermarket castings (like ALL Edelbrock heads). The as cast cylinder head on display looked terrible - ports were tiny - like samller than 170cc. The ported version they had next to it didn't look impressive at all. I have no idea what kind of power they make though

Good point. If I were getting heads, I'd be going big-inch at the same time.

if they are the ones listed in summit racing...they only advertise a 270/200cfm flow at .550" lift.

hell you can have closer to 300cfm from some $1000 ported factory castings.

um...pretty sure "big inch" is refering to boring and stroking. not the heads.

what cam are you wanting to run? that will determine what the best head is for your application.
my only issue with some of the ported ls6 heads are that some have BIG intake runners...which will kill low/mid range...but give you a nice dyno queen.

more info please

looking at the 224r or 228r since i will probably get one of the packages from texas-speed... what do you think about the torquerv.2 or new v.3? they looked like they were a little bigger than the 228; but since i want to drive it whenever the weather is too bad for my bike i'd like it to be pretty small-mild for drivability...400+whp

Correct. Are you responding to me? If so, you've misunderstood. Go back and read again.
