Easiest way to run low 12's

Well I am selling the LT1 for an LS1 and I am just wondering the best mods to do to run low 12's. Hopefully I will find a M6, but if the price is right I will take an auto. Thanks guys.

lid ~ $80
cutout ~ $30
Hooker Long tube headers and off road pipe ~ $700
ported maf and throttlebody = free, check out installuniversity.com
3.73 or 4.10 gears ~ $400 installed.
LS6 intake ~ $350 on pre 01 models, 01-02 models you get one stock

That should get you low 12s easily. Just remember that you will need the proper set of tires to match.

Depends upon your defintion of low 12s ... see sig for how I did it with an A4 ... With a M6 you'll need to beef up the clutch and rear end to handle the stick tires - DOT slicks - that you will need to launch it ...

Good Luck

If all you see are low 12s with those setups, your driving is seriously flawed.

I thought we were talking "easiest." Sure, a 421 CID stroker setup would easily run low 12s...but why not just do it with bolt-ons?

Well, it doesn't look very hard to make them run low 12's. I guess I will just go with the basic bolt-ons and then maybe do head and cam after that. Thanks guys.

the fastest and easiest way would be nitous no doubt. BUT i would suggest an auto w/ a nice stall, gear, long tubes and bolt ons.

I thought about an auto but I have had one for so long that I want an M6. Just more fun to drive than an auto. Plus I found an 99 SS with 32k miles loaded for 14k, M6...soo. The only thing I am worried about with the manual is the rear end.
