Eagle F1 GS-D3 vs. Firehawk SZ50's
I've only used Eagle F1's and they are good. Hey, if you think $163 is cheap, go to www.lesschwab.com and get a number from them. They are selling the F1's for $87 right now. Somebody already posted this and it's true. They are only in the northwest so I had them ship the tires to my house, still cheaper than going to a local tire place. Also, I just checked tirerack, and they show the F1s for $202????
Allthough many people seem to like the f1s, there was set on the front of my car when i got it. the F1s were almost brand new. I got rid of them after a month, because on my car they didnt hold the wet road around turns at all. Just my experiance
In the LT1 tech where most guys have been through several sets of tires the overwhelming majority of votes have been for Firehawk SZ50's and Bridgestones Potenza RE730's.
My bro had sz50's on his iroc. They hooked gooded enough to break his rear end. I currently run 275/40/17 re730s on the front and they are awesome in the rain and hold the road very well. they are predictable tires too and wear well. Only complaint is that they are louder than my other tires that ive had. I guess the sz50's are quieter. I had re730's on the rear and they didnt hook up well at all from a stop so i went with nitto drag radials.
I'll be buying sz50's when the re730's run out of tread. Check out the two on tirerack.com. Lots of feedback and reviews on those tires.

i'll give a HUGE vote for the SZ50's. i've had them on my past two camaros, and i'll probably never buy a different brand of tire again.
the dry traction is unbeleivable, i use to be able to ocassionally chirp 4th gear and with the addition of the SZ50's i only get a small bark out of second!!
the rain handling is great as well, tires use to spin all over the place in a wet road when accelerating hard, now there is no noticable spin unless you really floor it. the traction control barely kicks in on real wet roads. and when you hit puddles on the road you can barely tell they are there.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
and they wear very nice as well. 10K miles on the old set (before i totalled the car) and you couldn't even tell they had any miles on them.

i just put on some of the BFG KD's and they are by far the best tire i have ever driven on traction wise in any camaro i have driven. there is no comparison to them. (driven ls1's with kumho's, goodyear f1's and g3's, and some pilot sports.) all relativly bone stock and the bfg's get the least amount of chirp by far. i had f1's on my car before and i could light them up from a roll, i cannot even get a chirp outta these. I love them
but they do cost a lot so i only put them on the back, and left the f1's on the front.

I have heard alot of good thing about the G3. People who have them with 315 width outback say that they hook incredibly well on the street which is a good thing.
I have not heard much about the SZ50's but I will search up on them from the responses in this thread since ill be on the market for rims/tires soon.
Good luck,
Mark
