Dynomouth info?
Dynomouth info?
I'm looking for information on the Dynomouth exhaust, what is it? I'm new the the Chevy scene and looking for info. I'm used to running big block Fords, 2 pipes and 2 mufflers! This 2 into one the back to 2 is different to me!
Thanks!
Thanks!
GM gives us single exhaust because they have too much space and heat sensitive crap running down the driver's side of the car to put duals. It's not a terrible set-up though, it's 2.75" diameter mandrel bent stainless pipe. The sucky part is where it goes into that crappy crossflow muffler. The stock muffler doesn't flow good at all, and the crossflow design is lacking in general. If you can get rid of the stock muffler you will gain alot, then if you go with a straight through design and drop the crossflows, you have more potential, even out of the stock 2.75" pipe.
The Dynomouth is a mod more than an exhaust. It is a total rejection of the crossflow muffler. By doing this mod to my 2.75" stock exhaust, I have dynoed as much or more than guys who have gone to expensive 3" cat-back systems... with the same mods otherwise of course.
My Dynomouth cost me a whopping $140 including: parts, shipping, and proffesional installation!
Anyway, here are some Dynomouth links to explain it further:
Diagram (Print this and take it with you if you decide to do the Dynomouth, exhaust men tend to give you a blank stare if you try to explain the mod with words.):

Good luck
