My car put down 305 h.p. with 333 torque. with listed mods after tune on mustang dyno??? 284 h.p 301 torque before headers..

 

ls6 intake was not on during the dyno, just bought it on the forums..

 

All you have is a lid and headers. What did you expect? 305 on a Mustang is = to ~ 330 on a dyno jet.
I ran 12.15 @ 110 mph with just 314 at the wheels on a dynojet. Dyno #s mean squat.

I've read that track times are a much better way to measure your car than the wavering numbers that various dyno's can give you.

 

the slp air temp module is probably causeing you some timing retard on the top end...check out the tread on it in the "general tech" forum....

and like stated, you have minimal real world mods. not to mention you're losing a few hp due to the heavy *** 17x11 rims...and not having the ls6 intake.

for a mustang dyno i think you're pretty much on the money...partucularly with no tune.

 

what I find funny is how people dont have any baseline runs on the same dyno before mods then complain when they finally do get on a dyno..

 

yup...there's no way to make an accurate comparison. for all we know, the car could have been putting down 250 to the wheels out of the factory

yup...dyno's are just a tuning tool, the numbers mean NOTHING. I beat cars on the street that run mid 11's in the 1/4 with a RWHP number that would theoretically only get me low 12's, high 11's


you were also on a mustang dyno. those put a decent load on the car and will give you a lower reading than a dynojet. the extra load, however, does make it easier to give the car a more precise tune.

 

Mustang dynos are 10-15% lower then a dynojet, your at least 330rwhp

 

just like al said, it dont mean a thing. look at his run with 314rwhp, i ran almost the same time 11.87-12.1 @ 118 (two differant tracks) with 420rwhp. the 106 extra hp didnt help me much in my case. now he may have some better mods than me to make up the differance. im on a stock tc, dont know if al is or not, and i dont have any suspension work done. anyway, dyno numbers dont mean anything at the track or on the road.

 

That's actually a good number for having a lid and headers. Most LS1's dyno about 290-320 stock. Your lid and headers gave you 10 whp tops.

you're not taking into account that it's a mustang dyno...that range you gave is what people usually see on a dynojet. the higher end being 01-02 F-bodies that came with the LS6 Intake out of the box.

 

Not as bad as a friends Mustang...

Had the whole engine rebuilt, all forged parts etc., put down 142 hp to the wheels. The guy who built this engine just stole the 15k from him and set him up with a completely f'ed up engine.
