dumb cutout question...
Are you guys saying a cutout isn't worth it if you have a Cat-Back System? I have a Corsa Cat-Back, and I am getting FLP Long Tube Headers soon. Will a cutout not help me out any? Be a waste of money? Thanks.

A cutout will gain over a catback. Might not be much. Maybe 2-7hp depends on the catback and flow. Remember it isnt going through a muffler.

It depends on how free flowing your Corsa exhaust is, I'm not familar with what the inside of that muffler looks like.
I know after I added FLP's to my car, the Flowmaster proved to be restriction.

A buddy of mine has a Corsa cat-back on his TA with a cutout. He actually lost a little power with the cutout open on the dyno. He just opens it when he wants to be noticed
and keeps it closed when he races.
I have a stock exhaust and could feel a BIG difference with the cutout. I will find out if I can improve upon my best 1/4 mile time (13.4) as soon as it cools off.

Maybe with just a cat back adding a cut out will only add 5hp, but he is also doing FLP headers with straight pipes. This will require more air flow. IMO a cut out will help out more in his case due to his headers.
and latter down the line cam and heads are planned. with those on there a cut out is required.

i doubt you will see much improvement by putting a cutout on with headers and a catback. very very small gains if so, except for the decibal department. i love having my car loud, but if you did that you are going to be hunted by the hogs for sure.
