Does Z28's have the same transmission as the C5's?

Yes. Not identical but the same internal components. The Corvette trans is in the rear of the car so there are differences to accomodate that.

And if you're talking about the Z06, the gear ratios are different too. Not just final drive, but all the gears. I'm sure the gearing stats are posted on http://www.corvette.com

Borg-Warner T56. Used in the Z-28, the T/A, the C5, the Z06, AND the Dodge Viper. There are some component differences, as people have mentioned, but they're all basically the same transmission. I always thought it was cool that the Z28 has the same engine as the Corvette and the same tranny as both the Corvette and the Viper.

2nd: 1.78:1
3rd: 1.30:1
4th: 1.00:1
5th: 0.74:1
6th: 0.50:1
Axle: 3.42:1

Z06

Order code: M12
1st: 2.97:1
2nd: 2.07:1
3rd: 1.43:1
4th: 1.00:1
5th: 0.84:1
6th: 0.56:1
