Does you car seem faster some days than others?

a week ago it seemed as if my car suddenly grew an extra 20 hp. it was awesome and all the sudden it started pulling really hard. then a couple days ago it went back to how it was before.. still fast, but just not as fast as it was the day before.

Anyone ever notice your LS1 being noticeably faster on one day to the next? Temprature didn't change much, and the A/C was off.

Hmmm... I wonder if theres an explanation... i'd love to figure it out and have it be faster all the time!

It's got 20k miles, so nothing to do with breakin.

Cool

I haven't yet noticed such thing. Mine is fast all the time!

It's probably just your SOTP feeling and not a factual and measurable difference.

My car aslo does that but I always contributed it to tempature and humitity, but that might not be the case.

20hp? I've never noticed a day to day change (real or perceived) but ever since coming back from the dyno... it seems faster. I'm sure it's just my imagination.

When it pulled harder, it seemed to be in the higher RPM's... like from 3 - 6 k... I don't think its a SOTP feeling... it definatly had a noticable power difference...

IAT sensor maybe? timing?

The LS1 computer does what it wants i guess, but i'd sure like to figure this out

I know this is psychological, but my car seems slower when it's all dirty and faster after it's been thoroughly cleaned.

Well actually, I think technically, it would be a hair-on-a-knat's *** faster. Sorta like an external port & polish- minus the port.

Ha! Yeah I know, right.

Maybe I feel that way because the dirt grains make my car one millionth of a nanosecond slower (less aerodynamic).

Seriously though, anyone have any idea why this could be? I'm sure it isn't in my head, it's a noticeable difference.

My car is slow all the time except at night. Used to run strong no matter what the weather was.

Nah, Actually, it was 2 days after i got my 3.73's put in. Right after i drove it with them in I wasn't too impressed. It was faster than it was, but i'd never been happy with the performance of the car. Then 2 days after I had them installed i was messing around with my friend on the highway... you know, holding in in gear, waiting for him to come up, then gunning it. We did this for a little while, then on my way home I was messin around on my own and all the sudden it just started slamming me back in my seat really hard and pulling very hard. Actually it was so fast that the back tires were struggling for grip at 50mph in 2nd gear. It was like this for a while, maybe a week, then a few days ago it was back to the way it was before!

I was just curious as to if anyone has ever experienced anything similar.

Hopefully after I get my Longtubes (in the shop now getting test fitted for Jet-Hot emmisions legal LT's) and FIPK it will be alot faster.
