Does anyone have info on the 99 LS1 302 camaro
I have read what is here on the site.Does anyone have info on the bore and stroke of this motor? What heads and valves/rockers?
What would this kind of engine be like for the street? I'm not planning on doing this just wondering?

I believe Dave McClelland built the car for Flowmaster. I don't remember the specifics of the bore & stroke, but I do remember reading that it had a good cam, heads, and exhaust and that it would rev easily to 7 or 8 grand. It made good power at that engine speed, but as usual, low end torque was sacrificed. I think it had a 4.88 gear or something with the T56, and I think it was a mid 12 second car in street trim.

Didn't SLP make a 302ci Camaro? It had 302 badges on the side of it I believe, it was a pewter car with Torque Thrust II rims, a single black stripe and an SS hood... don't remember the link anymore, but I have pictures of it.

Looks like the answers are all there, except for the cam specs. I'd expect this engine to make its power in the upper rev ranges - a stock LS1 probably would drive better in traffic.

They had that here at SLP day in hebron (NTR)

This is probably an old topic, but i found it in search while looking for 302 sound clips.
I got to talk to the guy who designed the whole thing, the father of the 302SS concept for about a hour and a half, his bill,he lives a couple states away too.But he kept us on the phone to think of stuff about an engine my dad thought about buying, and he just stayed on the phone to think with us,somthing he could have easily hung up,and thought and wrote down on paper and get back on the phone, but he was cool enough to stay on the phone long distance. We talked all sorts of cars, just BS'd for a while, a VERY cool dude. He talks to Scott Setlemire (sp??) pretty often. He said that Scott had it out for a drive, and he called and said i broke it,and the guy thought, oh man did he overev the engine and throw a rod,or somthing, and it turns out that he had it at about 8k i believe it was, and broke the tranny
Thats pretty good that the engine can hold together,it is a VERY strong engine.yes it is a high revver too.I haven't got to hear it,but i have seen it.but once again he is a VERY cool dude.
