ok if i get the gears and dont get the shift points adjusted will i still reduce et? how much more et will be reduced with the shift points adjusted? will it mess anything up if the shift points arent adjusted? thanks

If you put anything other than factory gears into your car, ie: 3.42's, 3.73's, 4.10's, etc., you will have to have the speedometer re-calibrated somehow. Well, let's say you do what a lot of guys do, and get your own programmer (ie: Hypertech) then you can not only reprogram the speedo, but you can also adjust the upshift points of the transmission with that programmer. OR, if you take your car somewhere to get it re-programmed, have them adjust the shift points if necessary (which it shouldn't be, because the shifts are factory set around ~5800 rpm, which corresponds to the engine's maximum "beneficial" rpm).
