do i need limited slip additive?

do i need to use the limited slip lube additive for the rear diff? i have a 99Z28 with the torsen axle. i've heard that the torsen doesn't need the additive because it's not clutch based. but the guy at the dealership seemed to think i need to use it.

do you guys who have the torsen axle use the additive?

thanks

I was told by a service guy at the dealership that you DON'T need it for the Torsen style diff.........only for the Auburn (clutch-type) diff.

Nope it'll just lighten your wallet by $8
As a matter of fact some that have had rusty screw type of squeaking noises from their Torsens have quieted them down with the additive.

i see. i think i might re do mine cause i got it serviced cause it was leaking and it started whining a couple weeks after. i don't think they put in the additive. or they messed around with something else, or i need a new rearend. hoping the additive quiets it...
