Differences: SS vs WS6
i'm about the differences between the SS and the WS6
i'm looking into either an SS or a Z28... or possibly a WS6... so that's why i wanted to know the differences between the Chevrolet and Pontiac versions

I think the WS6 is heavier with the ground effects. The interior is different. There are more standards (ex. dual power lumbar supports). The WS6 Monsoon is a bit better. I guess it's a matter of what you think looks better. Mechanically, they are pretty much identical.

A WS6 comes with more standard items, and has much better seats. Also it's ram air setup is more affective .... especially with the Brian Green ram air mod. It might be 30 lbs heavier max, but is more aerodynamic
Besides thinking that the SS/Z28 looks better than the Pontiac versions (f-body) the SS/Z28 can actually have a hidden hitch installed so if you desire to tow anything like a Seadoo or small trailer etc. you can. With the "overdone" ground effects on the TA you can't install a hitch, just one functional difference.

The difference? My WS6 eats SS for breakfast. No, not really. I just wanted to **** off the SS people.
I think everyone has pretty much covered the differences. They are mostly cosmetic except the better designed ram-air intake on the WS6 (especially after removing the 2nd baffle). Plus, I think the T/A just looks bad-***, especially a black one with tinted windows driving at night.
The seats in the WS6 are different. They are slightly more comfy and have a plastic cover on the back of them. However, on the road trip this weekend, I noticed that after a couple of hours, I needed a break, where in my Z28 I could drive 4 - 5 hours before needing to stretch my back out. Maybe I haven't quite gotten the lumbar and kidney supports set quite right yet. Oh, and you get a net on the back of the seats in the WS6. Handy for tucking away a map during a road trip.
Radio is a little different. You get an EQ with the WS6, but lose the speed sensitive volume control.
ASR switch is easier to get to in the SS. It's above the radio, where on the WS6 they tuck it down in front of the shifter.
You don't get auto-headlights on the WS6 like you do on the SS, but that's the first thing I disabled anyway, so it doesn't matter.
Pop-Up headlights on the WS6 will eventually have a few problems. Mainly the crappy plastic gear that wears down.
Someone mentioned towing ... no biggie to me since I don't plan to ever tow with my WS6. If I have to tow something, I'll buy a truck.
I'll tell you this ... when I had the Z28, people would give it a glance. But now that I've got a WS6, people stare!

In the end, it's your choice. But remember, the Chevy line is coming back in a few years. The Pontiac isn't. It might be something to consider from a collectible point of view, but only if you plan to keep you car forever. (like me)
