differences between ws6 and t/a?
differences between ws6 and t/a?
i'm having a hard time finding a black ws6 m6....
i guess the main thing i like about this car over the regular trans am is only the hood..... so i'm figuring i can get a trans am much easier and get a new hood
but then also i know there are 10hp and better tires/wheels to be had, what else does the ws6 package have? stiffer suspension right??
if anybody wants to fill me in on the details i'd appreciate it
and wether or not i'd surpass the ram air engine simply by doing a CAI, the exhuast is the same right?

WS6 is of course the hood and badges. Also, what makes the WS6 is the functional ram air that the hood provides, bilstein shocks, 17" wheels with Z rated tires and a high flow muffler and different tips. hope this helps
damn..... found a 96 black ws6 (forumla actually not t/a) m6 today... already had a deposit on it
bummer huh?
i had actually seen this car but its gonna be at least 3 weeks before i am real serious about getting a car.... ie having 12k in my account rready to be spent

Maybe I can help you out a little. First off, there really isn't any guaranteed edge in performance with the WS6's over stock TA's. There are so many power variances from car to car, that usually no difference really shows up. Also, from 00 up, the WS6 package consisted of the ram air hood and raised air box, more effeciant exhaust, the 17x9 inch rims larger tires and a front sway bar. There was absolutely nothing else done to the suspension other than a sway bar after 99.
The main reason I did not buy a WS6 is because after the change in rim design, the only thing Ireally liked was the hood and I could not justify spending another 3500 bucks on that alone.
It all comes down to what you really want. If performance is your only goal, you are better off with a base TA and modding it, if you want a real WS6 just to have a real WS6, then go that route.
Hope this helps you out

The WS-6 and TA are pretty similar, except the WS-6 has a few better parts and of course the hood.
For me I bought the TA, because those few better parts the WS6 comes from end up getting replaced anyhow, so why pay extra for something that'll sit in the garage.
Only thing is a I wish I had the hood, but oh well, I am happier with a wallet with $3000 more dollars in it

i've since decided to go with a 98 t/a, dont care about the package
should be easy to find
reason is.... i'm gonna get a 'raptor' hood which is similar to the firehawk but even nicer i think
i actualy like it better than the ws6's of lt1 and ls1 and..... well i will be happy with it and i should be able to find the car i'm lookin for
tires will come eventually... and probably be 315's at that time
i feel much more releived now (even though i havent bought a car - i know i can)

I like the Raptor hood because of the heat exchangers built in. But, I like the front of the stock WS6 hood. My friend has a Raptor on his TA and it looks good, but the fit isn't quite perfect. There's just a touch of rubbing at the nose.
I'm going to get a local shop to do me a set of custom heat exchange vents in my stock WS6 hood. That way, I get the best of both worlds.

A sick looking combo would be the Raptor hood from www.tbyrnemotorsport.com and chrome torq thrust 2's in 17x11's from www.quicktimeperformance.com
