difference between ls1 & ls6 intake manifold

I hear the ls6 intake manifolds produce more horsepower to the ls1 when installed on an ls1. Why is this? Looking at the two side by side, what is the actual difference in the two? minus the fuel rail covers

the volume the runners can hold... the ls6 simply it flows better

Re: difference between ls1 & ls6 intake manifold

the fuel rail covers are irrelevant...they are not part of the intake.

but the differences lie in the runner design. the LS6 has bigger runners and more optimal angles. probably allow better flow and higher air velocities.

i also think the LS6 has more volume in the main body, allowing air to be drawn from a less turbulant source.

Si.
IIRC the plenium is larger on the LS6, thus the flat bottom.
