Difference from 2001 to 2002

Hey there LS-1 people. I was looking at SS Camaros and was wondering if you could tell me what the difference is between the 345hp 2002 and the 325hp 2001. Thanks.

2001-2002 models are nothing different from each other, although I could be wrong(please correct if I am). From what I understand, it was a carryover. What gives the SS the extra +20 HP is the dual-dual exhaust, a SLP option. But understand that GM underrates the F-bodies.

In 01 you were able to get a 335 hp SS if you got it with the d/d slp exhaust. If you didin't it would be rated at 325 hp. In 02 you could have gotten the 325 hp, 335 with the d/d exhaust or 345 with the d/d exhaust and a lid from slp. That's the difference.

Both SpecForceZ28 and Geeterman are absolutely correct.

Well the Pontiac Ram Air is better than the SS Ram Air. The Dual Dual Exhaust will help out the horsepower output.

Not to be a ****, but a muffler and a "lid" will make that much difference, the ram air is a BS idea though much more efficient on the T/A's if they remove the baffle's, the SS setup is crap, you are better off buying a Z28, and putting the lid, muffler and stuff on yourself, then buy a Ultra Z hood, or something more radical than the 1 1/2" tall ss cowl. These numbers are rated at the crank, though, not rwhp, even still underrated, it has actually been proven, those two things are the first thing any LS1 owner should do right away, is a Lid and exhaust, and while you are at it do headers too, but if not, at least get a better y-pipe and muffler, then you will definetely notice a difference.

The power steering cooler is standard on all 02 Z28, SS, and WS6.
