Daily Driver and the power steering pump
Daily Driver and the power steering pump
My camaro is my daily driver, a 2000 with 63000 miles on it. It's really mostly highway. I have had a 4.10 in it for almost 4 months and because of that causes my car to rev a little higher. I am also getting that ticking lifter sound that I swear every camaro has, and GM refuses to fix it untill it's too late, but anyway my power steering went out this morning. I mean I turned the car on and it didn't work, the pump made this little ticking sound, like a nasty scraping bearing. So I already came to the conclusion the power steering pump is out. But at the same time i was also looking at how for some reason my clutch felt softer. I have the center force dual friction clutch, that gives you the leg workout of your life, and it felt softer.
I was thinking that maybe it might be because my tires in the front are 285's, maybe that might have to do with the pump sucking, i try not to over turn the wheels when making corners or parking. Anyone else have everything but the engine break down in their car?
Any insight, or if anyone has suggestions about how to prevent this from happening again, or if GM power steering sucks to begin with, lemme know.
Later,
Chris
