Lightbulb Cutout

Hey I was talking to a guy at work and he was telling me he had a "cutout" and it helped with tremendously with hp and 1/4. Can anyone explain to me what a cutout is and if i will see gains and how much it will run me..

Also looking at my list of mods... what should i expect as a 1/4 mile time...

Thanks steven

Depending on where you put the cutout it can bypass cats (hard on a stock car) or the muffler completely giving you almost an open header car. Some people have gained like 10 rwhp on a stock car from a cutout. In the quarter you can probably expect a .1 or .2 (lucky).

Your car would probably run anywhere from a 12.9-13.4 if driven good.

cutout is good even on high performance exhaust. I have a homemade Mufflex 3.5 inch clone with a nice quiet Spintech muffler, but opening the cutout (QTEC) is a good power mod.
