Cut Out Placement

I just installed my cut-out today. I feel that it was totally worthless. After examining my car, I found that my 24" racing bullet muffler was in the way of where the cut out should be. I had to put the cut-out after the muffler. Do you guys expect any gains from this set-up or was it worthless? However, the car is louder.

After the muffler? In that case you might as well take it off and sell it.

It probably isn't making any difference at all, both sound and power wise. Maybe some sound wise, but definetely not power wise...

I've heard some exhausts have the bullet muffler right on the spot where the opening is underneath the passenger seat.

At least it wasn't too expensive...

Exactly my thinking, but there was no other place to put it. What should I do?

The bullet muffler is already a "pass-through" type of muffler.. I wouldn't have personally put a cut-out...

Normally the cut-outs are installed before the muffler. Typically by the I-pipe of a catback... but since your bullet is already there... I would just get rid of the cut-out.. and have a hanger installed by the bullet.. then remove everything else after the bullet..

i would sell it man. the whole reason in a cut-out is to bypass the muffler. plus the muffler u have on there is free flowing anyway
