Custom Ram Air Intake

Hey guys I've been reading up on alot of induction systems like the SSRA and the K&N FIPK and such and I like the SSRA and it seems to be the best but I know it will effect the cooling of the engine because the tubing blocks off part of the radiator...so I have 2 questions...

1. Does the SSRA affect cooling enough to where it may be a problem in ANY driving situation.

2. Would it be possible to have a custom ram air system done like the SSRA, but to have the intake tube(s) placed inside the top section of the grille (where it's divided into 3 sections on the ends) I figure this would a) allow more surface area on the radiator to be cooled and b) Possibly allow a few more horses to be picked up due to possibly having a straighter shot to the airbox

Any views on this? I don't have an F-body to examine and test the feasiblilty of this so anyone wanna help me out? lol

Air from the grill is already directed to the airbox ...

I've heard that but from what I understand the air coming in through the grill goes to the radiator while some of it is forced up into the airbox through the opening in the bottom. My question deals with actually using intake tubing to route the air straight to the airbox so more of the air coming in from the grill makes it to the airbox.

the scoop doesn't really block off any of the radiator, i live in south florida and have not noticed any problems with cooling. there is still tons of radiator that is wide open.

sitting in traffic you're gonna run hot whether part of the rad. is blocked or not.

the SSRA rocks...great gains

The air from the grill is directed upwards to the hood and then forced directly into the front of airbox ...

Well if the SSRA doesn't affect cooling I'll just get that bad boy. I'm in Florida too and if we can run fine that setup then anyone can.

Either way do I get originallity points? lol
