A couple Q's to improve upper RPM durability
A couple Q's to improve upper RPM durability
I'm curious on improving the upper engine strength. As a M6 owner I know that some have experienced bent pushrods (or worse) from missed shifts/ overrevving. I'd like to "beef up" my top end.
Where exactly is the "weak link"? Is it the pushrods, or a combination of parts? I'd like to get a upper end setup that can withstand a short burst to 7,000RPM or higher without grenading. This is more for "protection" from overrevving the car than total power output.
In short, if I were to change the pushrods to an aftermarket design....possibly new rockers and springs to go with it.... could I achieve this goal? Any help, specific combinations, etc would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

pushrods/springs/retainers/ and if your really spinning it a set of ti- rockers wouldn't be a bad idea. after that..... SPIN AWAY! a few guys around town have been spinning there ls1's well past 7k on the stock block so i'm gonna keep it down around 6800.
comp is a pretty good brand but i've heard of a few problems with them so i'm still looking around myself before the cam change happens
edit- then again, one guy spun 7200 on the stock pushrods in his auto but thats SOOOOOOOO pushing the limits and he even said it was a dumb move
