Are you sure? I would hope that's the truth, but most everyone seems to disagree.

Scottslt1z28: I've browsed the MBA website. So far, they have the best LS1 engine detailing products I've found. But they do charge quite a bit.

I have the FRCs on my car and they're great. Not too hard to install, and contrary to opinion, they're cheap. I pay $100 Canadian for a set of 2, which is $60 US. Peanuts. I've done them on several cars. Get them from any GM dealer, but make sure you order the FRCs for the 1997 Vette. They have two holes in the drivers side panel, whereas the 98+ years only have one (which means more cutting).

You can get fiberglass one pre-cut for the F-body, but they cost more, around $200 US or so. A lot of guys have taken the cheap C5 FRCs, filled in the CORVETTE letters with epoxy, repainted the covers with texture paint, and put some decals on them (Camaro SS, Trans Am, etc...). Its' real easy. Just takes time.

Cheap and one of the nicest appearance mods. Though be prepared to spend a few hours cutting and trimming if you've never done it. Just don't rush the job. Check my picture link for shots of my engine bay.

Sure thing Scott. Each side is $50 Cdn, or about $30 US, from a good dealer that isn't ripping you off.

If they're only $100, for sure I will get them! (I'm over in Alberta, so who cares about US price )

But I'm a little confused, are you saying the ones for the 98+ vette 'don't work with the 98+ camaro because the camaro needs two holes? I thought they were the same engine pretty much except for the cam. 97 vette was LS1, i think, so why would it be different from 98+?

Your FRCs look great! How much cutting and trimming are you talking about? I'm not that good at shaping metal, if thats what you mean. But whatever, I'm sure I'll figure out something.

EDIT: I wanted to ask, what song is that Pearl Jam line in your signature from?

Wow. Incredible how old threads suddenly reappear!

You preferrably want the covers from a 97 vette because that was the only year in the vette that they had two fuel lines going to the fuel rails - IOWs, the same design f-bodies have. 98+ the vettes only have one fuel line, meaning only one hole in the FRC.

The song is wish list by Pearl Jam.

I just bought the 02 Z28 35 edition last year but I just started doing differnt things to it.. I bought some corvette c5 wheels and heres a picture of my car.. I just got the covers yest they came off a 2000 C5 covette got them cheap so Im trying to get them to work. If anyone can give me some pointers or some detailed instruction be helpful.. If somone has done the mod to the engine covers be really nice if you can take a picture of them. So then I could copy the cuts.. Thanks
