I have a small hose going from the top of the radiator by the cap to a crossover pipe under/behind the throttle body. It is a disaster! I either need the correct hose or want to put it back to how it should be. Any help us greatly appreciated. Maybe a part number for the hose. Take a look at the pic if it posted to see what I am dealing with, why all the little hose clamps? Thanks

Unfortunately many of the LS1 owners seem to have abandoned this site. But if you can wait, may get an answer.

Appears someone pulled the coolant hoses off the throttle body and hooked them together. Typically done to reduce heat input to the incoming air stream.

I have a 1998 and a 2000 factory manual. Only looked so far at the 98 and it appears to me that all they did was pull the hoses off the two nipples on the throttle body, and connect them together. But hard to see what yours really looks like with the air duct in the way. Each side of the throttle body has a pre-shaped hose, and the one on the right side of your photo looks like the factory piece.

These are the diagrams from the 98 factory manual - see if that appears to match the two pieces they hooked together with all the clamps.

 

I can take a picture of my '02 in the morning if you still need.

I work at Advance Auto part time and the only thing I could come up with is the by-pass coolant hose which is a cut to fit hose (Dayco# 86500). They make block off kits if you wanted to consider that, but you would have to remove intake manifold to replace. Check this out.

May need to go with LS6 manifold though. just another option. All of those hose clamps are not needed just on the ends of hose.

The hose in his photo appears the be the one that was originally connected to the driver side of the throttle body. It appears someone took the hoses off the coolant nipples on the driver side of the throttle body and the passenger side of the throttle body and connected them together. Commonly referred to as the throttle body coolant bypass. The mess of hose clamps is the result of the way someone ghetto rigged the connection, because the two hoses are different diameters. Both hoses are clearly shown in the cuts from the factory manual in the .pdf I posted. JakeRobb posted photos of the same hoses.

I believe the part in the eBay link you posted is related to the tubing for the four head vent connections, under the intake manifold, not the same crossover.

 

I did the Throttle Body By-Pass on my 02 SS. Here is the link I used. If you want to re-do yours, it is really easy (just follow the instructions on the link) or you could go back to stock & just reverse everything the link tells you to do.
