Conversion?

Hey all, Looking into a 98-02 Z28, and was wondering if it is possible to convert the front end to the 93-97 camaro look. hood, front bumper, headlights. etc.

Thanks

Re: Conversion?

Why? do you honestly not like the LS1 style or do you want to rip off the Z badges too and be a sleeper?

Re: Conversion?

What is there to know? Guys have been putting 98 up front ends on their LT1cars for years now. Doing the opposite should be the same.

Re: Conversion?

Thanks guys just checking with you experts.. and i also plan on dropping a new motor in my camaro to replace the v-6.. i was thinking a 350cubic inch hehehe

if i can't do that or find the motor or w/e i might get an LS1 and mod the hell out of it and convert it to that 93-97 look since i'm in love with it. I think it's just cheaper to drop a motor in it just my opinion.. good for a sleeper since it's a v-6 body

Re: Conversion?

Most guys on here will tell you to just buy a Z28. Swaps are a lotta money to have someone else do it and a pain in the *** to do yourself. I'd have to agree. I don't know about the autos, but i know the two use different manual transmissions, so you'd need that too. If you want a sleeper, just get a Z28 and take the Z28 badges off. Most people can't tell the difference from the two.

Re: Conversion?

yeah, buy the Z28. I had a 3.4L. I modded the sh*t out of it and was never satisfied. I was a great starting car though, but it didnt have enough kick to it. I know you're probably in love with that car, but all in all its cheaper and easier to go with a Z. Now if you want to drop a classic 350 crate in, thats a new story! I've seen a few show camaros that have gutted a V6 body and dropped in a SBC with a huge carb and true duals. I'll tell ya a 4th gen with a classic small block is sexy.

Re: Conversion?

but then again, an old 350 would mean different front suspension parts, new motor mounts, new wiring for the guages...

Re: Conversion?

yeah.. i agree with you guys.. i was planning to mod my V-6 but i didn't want to waste my money since if i had full bolts on teh v-6.. i'd have as much power as a stock z would. so screw that man. SO yeah a Z i might look into.

As for the motor swap, yeah a lot of modding for a motor like that will be needed and a lot of cash will be spent but it would be really different.. not everyday you see a 4th gen camaro with a 60's muscle roar.
