Comp Cams versus Thunder Racing Cams

I am just curious what most LS1 owners prefer???I know Thunder Racing has the T-REX 242/248 110 LSA and Comp Cams has their own race proven cams. The XR281 Cam from Comp sounds impressive but does it compare to a T-Rex?

I know TR has put A LOT of testing and research into their cams. I would look at them or Futral's cams if I had an LS1 and that's almost strictly what people run down here with great results. Of course, they are both local so it's easy to get them to tune it as well.

Comp grinds TR cams if that makes any difference to you.

You do realize that a big cam like that 240+ duration on a 346 is going to be miserable to daily drive, right?

As stated above, TR has their cams ground through Comp and they (TR) do have quite a bit of R&D into their grinds. But, I think what sets them apart is the combinations they put together. I believe they have a few tricks up their sleeve (like their own lobe design). So, just because Comp offers a 224 cam doesn't mean it's identicle to the TR224. If it were me, I'd call up TR and talk to one of the techs about what I'm looking for out of a cam and have them guide me in the right direction. Then, get some opinions from people who run similar setups.

Yes,I am aware of TR cams being Comp but they do have different grinds. My fav quote is:"Nitrous is like a hot girl with an std,you really want to hit it but you are afraid of the consequences".
