clutch and trans questions
clutch and trans questions
I just finished installing a new stage III clutch in my 98 camaro. I have the trans back up underneath. I can slide the input shaft within about 1 and a half inches of the bellhousing. I have to have the bell housing on first because of doing it in my drive way, and clearance issues. I cant seem to get the trans to slide all the way in. Is it supposed to hang up and I have to walk it in with longer bolts? Or should the trans just slide in with no problems all the way to the bellhousing. Need help, putting the car back together this weekend.
Re: clutch and trans questions
Many people have the same problem, myself included. I went to Home Depot and bought longer bolts and worked it in. It doesn't take a lot of pressure to seat it using longer bolts. I tried and tried to push that sucker in but it wouldn't budge. It went right in with the longer bolts.
Re: clutch and trans questions
make sure the imput shaft has more lube than a virgin's cooter on prom nite...
should be able to get it in far enough to get the bolts started.
but it does take some muscle
