Lightbulb Clutch stuck to the floor but now woking fine

One of my friends was using my car today and he called to tell me that my clutch got stuck to the floor and was fully engaged. He checked the fluid and said it was full but looked a little dirty. This has never happened before except once or twice where it got stuck 1/4 of the way down in heavy traffic but never to the floor. He pulled the clutch up and it gave him no more problems. Do you guys think dirty fluid could have caused the hydrolics to fail?? Worst case, is it time for a new clutch?? Thanks for the help guys! Have a safe 4th of July!
Dave

Isn't this an indication that the system was not properly bled when it was refilled? Is the problem air bubbles?

Just an educated guess.

Most likely not the clutch.... I have a 1998 ss and My pedal sticks to the floor all the time. I have read that the hydraulics are terrible in 1998-2000 f bodys. You will need to upgrade your slave cylinder in the tranny. I ordered the master and slave ...they were on sale.....email me and I can give you the name of the place and where to look for more info....It is a non sponsor so I dont want to have any problems.......

I think there's a bulletin on this. Master cylinder problem not releasing keeping pressure on the slave cylinder. You may want to check with the dealer or an aftermarket as previously suggested. They probably have the bugs worked out that GM hasn't yet. Hope this helps.

A couple of day ago I was dropping to clutch in 2nd while going around 40 MPH. After a couple of times it all the sudden felt like there was a vacuum under the clutch and it barely returned.

After a couple of seconds it always resumes to normal.

I bet your friend was dropping the clutch alot.

Happened once to me. I did a burn out and forgot my traction control on and when I went to go launch at the line my clutch was nothing but mush.

Slave Cyl is going bad..

change it now before you get stuck somewhere and have to have the car towed
