clutch questions??

clutch questions??

as you all can see i have a 1999 M6 and its got about 55,000 miles on the stock clutch and and i was chaning my oil and all my other fluids, but when i looked at my clutch fluid it looked like mud so i want to bleed my clutch or flush the system but i couldnt find a bleed vavle anywhere. did i miss it or is there not one? if theres not one how do you change the fluid in your clutch ??

so i'm assuming that there is no way to bleed the clutch lines? then how do you fix a mushy clutch ?

yes you can bleed the system...thats what i have to do.....

stik98 I believe he was referring to the actualy trans fluid, not the fluid in the hydralics.

Naw i'm reffering to the actual fluid in the hydrolic lines, how do you bleed them?? is there a away?? i reall need to know ?

Sorry my mistake, unfortunatly I dont know the ansewer to your question. Try doing a search, I'm sure this topic has been brought up before.

The bleeder is ABOVE the the hose quick disconnect at the rear of the bellhousing.

See the picture:

Almost impossible to get to.

You'll need a 1/4" drive ratchet & short socket (I can't remember what size... 12mm maybe) and a 2 foot long piece of clear vinyl hose 1/2" in diameter (3/8 would be a better fit but you can't slide it on the bleeder with the tips of your fingers) ... or if you can get 7/16, you could try that.

Anyway, it's a pain & a mess. DO NOT pressure bleed it. You'll run the chance of blowing fluid from the threads where the bleeder screws into the slave & getting it on the disc ........yeah, go ahead & ask me how I know.....
