Cheap N/a 700 rwhp

Ok So I have a 98 z28 and I am going to build a motor for it. I would like to get about 700 rwhp and I need some of you to help me figure out what is that best way to get that for the least amount of money. I would much rather go N/A but something in the back of my head is saying that will be a bitch. So ya if any of you think you have a good set up let me know everything you know about it. Thanks

Cheap / 700 RWHP

Easiest way? Biuld the motor and add one heck of a shot of N20 with forged internals...

Turbo will definately do the job too... but it won't be cheap.

N/A? Can be done, you MIGHT have to go the stroker route though if you don't want a heck of a lopey cam.

Can you give us alittle more info? Just what do you consider cheap? as in how much are you willing to spend?

Honestly man, if you want 700RWHP, it's going to take alot of work no matter which route you go and for stuff like that, I wouldn't try to work on a constricted budget because stuff like this is best done the RIGHT way, that is unless you want to run the Dyno one time and find your car to be undrivable the very next day forcing yourself to tear the entire motor down again wasting more $$$... If you want cheap, you're really going to need to come down on the HP... Besides why do you need 700RWHP? Are these for events? If it's your first time, 700RHWP isn't going to be easily streetable... I'd work my way up... go to 400 RWHP, see how that feels then 500 if I'm unhappy...

Actually I think 700rwhp could be quite easy N/A. Go get yourself an LS1 engine, put a small cam in it with an LS6 intake and headers. Duplicate that recipe on another LS1, and weld the two together.

700rwhp?????? Wow, that is a huge goal and going to be quite expensive. Why do you want a 700rwhp all motor vehicle? It you are set on a RWHP number I would build a engine for forced induction and go that route. A 408cid LSx, S88 or S91 Turbo, Intercooler, and associated drivetrain upgrades will get you to where you want to be.

Ok well I mean I want to do it the cheapest way possible, but I do know that you need to do **** the right way. I used to have a 600 rwhp car, but I sold it so I am always wanting to go fast hahaha so that is why i said 700 rwhp I am hoping to spend no more then $10000, but I pretty sure that wont happen. I was thinking about doing a 408 stroker. I am not to sure what you can get out of one of those though. If that motor and call the good **** wont even get me close then I was thinking about doing that with a turbo. I have always been a muscle car guy so that is why I was thinking N/A like they say a turbo will never rumble the ground. But if that number is not going to be reached then I might have to go with a turbo or settle for less hp. But thank you all so much for your words and I hope you can keep helping me out on this one. Thanks again

Cheap.
700 RWHP.
N/A.

Sorry. That's not going to happen.

$10000 will get you 700rwhp with a built motor and a shot of nitrous. That's about it.

Forged motor + STS turbo kit FTW!

j/k

I don't know how you're going to see 700rwhp N/A without going big cubes...even then, it'll be tough.

700rwhp NA with a Gen3 SBC has been done, but it sure as hell ain't cheap!

Honestly, the cheapest way to do it would be to start with a big block...

You will need to make over 800 at the crankshaft. GMPP's 12:1 CR solid roller 572/720R doesn't make that.

I am curious, wouldn't a stroker, say a 427 stroker be capable of putting out 700RWHP if the motor was biult behind it?

Definitely, but you're looking at over $20,000 with exotic valvetrain setups, a 280/290 @ .050" .900-1.00" lift solid roller, $3000-4000 heads, $2000 intake manifold, 14:1+ compression, and the ability to turn 8500+ rpm.

What kind of set-up did you have that made 600rwhp? I think you'd be better off using a BBC if you want to hit 700rwhp on some kind of budget. However, if F/I is do-able, you could put together a boost-friendly iron 370 for pretty cheap and then do a good-sized turbo. After the fuel system, tuning and misc stuff, you'd prolly be out $12-13K...
