Changing plugs-99 LS1

Being new to the LS1 tech world, two questions: First, how much of a bitch is it to put new plugs in on one of these..at 110k, I think it's about due! Second, what kind do people like for primarily street driving.
TX,
Mike

Plug number 8 on the passenger side will be a bitch but it'd doable. Some people access it from underneath the car but I've done okay going in from the top. You'll have to remove the coilpack though.

NGK TR-55s seem to be the consensus.

I just recently installed some MSD 8.5 wires and NGK TR 55's in mine. As the other gentleman said you will have to remove the coil pack on the passenger side. I think 5 screws hold it on. BTW, i decided to leave off the bolt the furthest back under the dash. I set my gap at .055 on the NGK's. It ran pretty good last weekend. It does take awhile but just go into it relaxed and take your time, Fred

Thanks for all the advice and excellent pics/tutorial. I am going to tackle this over the next couple of weeks.
One other trick I've used with Aluminum heads is to use a small length of rubber hose slipped over the plug when I install it to help thread it..easier to handle and better tactile sense than trying to do it by hand or with a socket.

When I recently did my plug change I was able to start all mine with my fingers. No better way to make sure you start them straight and easily without cross threading. I still have maniflolds and it wasn't that hard to start them, Fred
