Cat-Back True Dual Question...
Cat-Back True Dual Question...
Is anyone running true duals in a catback setting? Most of the people that I see running true duals are using LT's and ORP. Is anyone running an X-pipe after the cats into Bullets? I thought that I had my mind made up to buy a catback system, but for the money of most catbacks, I could get true duals installed. Any input would be welcome. TIA
it basically comes down to what u want to do
i have flp headers and i thought bout duals but did borla instead with electronic cutout for track and whenevr i wanna be loud at the flip of a switch
hehe

With the location of the cats, I don't see why you couldn't do a true-dual exhaust with the stock manifolds and cats but I've have yet to hear of anybody that's done it.
I'm sure any good exhaust shop could do it.

Thanks...
I would imagine that even a catback true dual system would flow better than a 3" catback single pipe. If I decided to remove my cats, what would I need? Would I just need some O2 sims? Would I be able to accomplish the same thing as the sims with a programmer (Predator or Hypertech)? I plan on doing this install sometime next week.
It is not an oxymoron...
The cats can remain in place and still have a true dual exhaust system. The cats are placed on the downpipes from the manifold. The X-pipe could be placed after the cats, then two pipes out of the X into two mufflers dumped or over the axle. I dont see how this is an oxymoron.
Anyways, I am just going to go ahead and order the LT's this week and do it right. I work for a Chevy dealership, so I will just have to hope for the best if I have any warranty issues.

thats dual exhaust.. that happens to have cats.
they are allready where they need to be... they wouldnt have to be moved...
I still dont understand you...
A catback exhaust system uses the cats that are currently in place. I think that it is just a matter of terms. If I use the current cats, then I am going cat-back whether I use duals or a prefabbed system. I think we both know what I am trying to say though, and we will just agree that it is all just terminoligy from there.
