Car Wont Start

When I turn the key i get a clicking sound and the car wont start at all. The battery is fine. Im thinking its the starter. Just throwing it out there in case it might be something different

Re: Car Wont Start

sounds like the starter if you are hearing a clicking noise. clutch safety switch would not allow it to click. battery being bad would not allow it to click.

I'd suspect the battery/connections first - doublecheck the voltage with a DVM.

I would swap out the battery first with a know good one from a friends /wife's car to verify that it is not the battery. Remember, you can have 12 volts in the battery but low amperage which equals no start. You don't wan't to spend money on electrical parts that you don't need and can't return!

Yeah deff check that battery and all the connections. I used to work in a body shop and had to bring ALOT of dead cars in the shop all the time. Its really normal thing actually for it to make a clicking noise if there is just not enough juice to start the motor. Every thing else in the car will work but the battery just doesent have the juice to fully engage the starter.
