Car won't start!!!
Despite my username I actually have a 99 Z28. The other night after work I went out to my car and turned it on. I then started it up but it dind't fully turn over. It just started to go then slowly began to die. I gave it gas and it wouldn't respond. I thought I might have just let off the ignition early so I tried it again. The second time I held it a little longer and when I let off the ignition it did the same thing. I then turned off the stereo and tried it again, and this time it worked. The car was cold at the time. The only mods I have done to it are a Flowmaster muffler and a K&N Gen II FIPK. I have absolutely no idea why it did this. Today my car started fine other than an unusual noise like a clog or something in the exhaust. Please help me, I really need to get this fixed quick. Thanks for the help!!!

Well it could be a clogged Cat... As for the starting problem, my guess could be the battery is going, since you have to turn off the stereo, just to get it too start... Is the stereo stock or aftermarket ?? Sounds to me that it is probably the stereo drawing too much power from the battery to start it up... Which I cannot make an assumption unless I had looked at the car...

I thought that it might be the battery and that's the reason I turned off the stereo when I started the car. The stereo is actually the stock Monsoon system, and the battery is 3 months old. The alternator is also working fine, I already had that checked. I'll find out what's wrong with it tomorrow though, thanks again.
I had a friend experience a similar problem with his 94Z except it happened when the car was hot. His problem turned out to be a clogged cat.
Don't know if that helps you out any though.
Hope it isn't anything big.

It could be numberous things. Exhaust is my first thought.
It could also be
-clogged or dirty fuel injectors
-clogged or dirty fuel lines
-clogged or dirty fuel pump
-bad spark plugs
-dying starter
-bad ignition wires (or intermittent connection)
-PCM starting to go on the fritz
It probably isn't all that bad, but just some stuff to give you an IDEA of what you're up against until you find out for sure.

I got the car fixed. It was a clogged fuel pump, which i had a problem with in my other camaro. The other thing messing with the idle was a leak in the PCV Valve hose. Thanks for all the help!!!

I meant it sounded like maybe a clog in my cat or something. I'm gonna bring it in and have it checked out, thanks for your suggestions.
