car starting to rly worry me. help?
2 yrs ago i wrecked my 00z. my mom had a 98v6 that was perfect condition so i got it from her and pulled the v6 crap out, and put the v8 motor/tranny, etc all in... sounds simple enough eh? well that took the shop 1 year to do it(Katrina in there and them being the slowest shop in the state prob), maybe a lil longer (dunno honestly)
well me being an idiot or not back then... i owe 8k on the car still. it doesnt run(started but wont idle for anything and barely drives) and i havnt had 1 solid week of driving in it in last 2 months.
now for the big dilemma... just talked to a shop i brought it to the last time it died bc i don't have confidence whatsoever(and def now) in them touching it. this guy was much more knowledgeable and explained a lot to me about what it could be. he rly thinks it could simply be a serious rewire issue of the car. grounds, computer, harnesses everything... but he said it could be that, not sure. he said he can do it but it would 95% chance being very expensive bc of time. unless it ended up being something simple.
only options i see are:
1 i keep trying to find a shop that can correct it, calling a few big performance shops around here tomorrow, but i think they are going to tell me hell no, were not touching it. but who knows....
2 sell the car but i dont think id get anything for it... a "good mechanical" but ****ty electronic car (mods in sig... its a good amount, all new less than 200 miles on them), or then parting it out, but there is no way in hell id be able to take it apart in my driveway, no room. BUT the parts on it are way over 8k, but not sure how easy it would be to sell it without going real cheap (but then not enough to pay it off)
dunno what to do, need to think about it, but anyone have any thoughts heh..
