Car didn't start... any ideas?
Car didn't start... any ideas?
Went to fire up the car this morning to head off to work and the car wouldn't start. All the gauges and the radio had power, but when I attempted to start her up, nothing happened. Not even any clicking or the crank attempting to turn over, absolutely nothing. Now I'm not exactly a very knowledgable person when it comes to diagnosing problems, so I'm looking for any suggestions on where to start here. I'm thinking it's gotta be either the alternator, battery, or starter. This is an '01 SS with 49K miles. Thanks for any help guys.

was the "security" light on in the right hand side of the dash?
could have been the VATS disabbling the starter. sometimes a sign of warn contacts in the key cylinder lock, or just bad position of the key.
you have to wait like 3 min for it to reseet then try again.

I bought a battery day before yesterday and she cranks right up every time.
I got a Duralast Gold...I have a discount at Autozone so I just got the best one they had there.(Besides the Optima yellow top, which was $140 or so
but its so bad a$$
)Make sure you buy some of that corrosion resistant stuff they sell at autozone, they sell it in little packs for like 99 cents each. Rub that stuff all over your battery contacts so they dont rust in the future.
