can the new Z06 handle 200 shot of nitrous?

i know they have titaniun crankshaft and connectiong rods along with forged pistons. that makes this engine literally bullet proof. so can it handle 200 shot of nitrous with ease?

It's not "literally" bulletproof, because that would mean it is literally bulletproof- which it's not.

Anyway, there's atleast one LS7 that's been taken down that I know of. I think he was spraying a 200 shot on it.

With drag radials, exhaust, and tune a LS7 Z06 can dig deep into the 10s. This really makes you wonder if a 200 shot is necessary.

I thought the crank was a forged STEEL crank, while the RODS are titanium? (as well as most of the valvetrain). And AFAIK, they didn't go with forged pistons ... merely cast / hypereutectic? Still, it should be able to handle a good shot of nitrous before grenading itself, but I'd read around a little on the 'Vette boards to see what they're doing with them .

I think it might handle 200 if it was a direct port system. Safely, I don't think a stock motor should see more than 150 shot with a standalone fuel system.

My understanding was also that the titanium rods are strong but brittle...

Probably so- the forging might help a little, but you won't be seeing any titanium crankshafts for that reason. The steel can flex more before it permanently changes shape. Since there's not really any twisting force on the rods titanium is a good idea. (Plus if GM makes enough it might even make a good swap part...) The pistons will probably fall apart long before the rods in a power adder situation anyway. I would be interested to know how high the LS7 will spin before breaking something.

i agree, the ls7 is just a sick engine. cant wait to see if they actually produce it in the solstice. seem one in a magazine (prototype i guess) run 10.9 stock

iirc that vette had no tune or anything done for that shot. it was one me the first z's to spray and they basically just slapped it on and ran it.
