LOL for $30,000 you could have the Looks AND their 383 ci package (Probaby just a 346 with a cam so it SOUNDS stroked) + some crappy exhaust, and minor bolt-ons like a pulley. Some brakes, a carbon fiber driveshaft, colorful suspension components, etc.
My thoughts--- I could probably build an identical car with all the HP mods as well for less than 1/2.
I especially like the comment: "The rear end. Looks like an SS/stock mix." Could be partly due to the fact that the spoiler is from a 96-97 SS, and the rest IS stock.

I think the Mecham Trans Am hood with heat extracters is awsome! The spoiler looks like a porsha fin?
The packages are not worth the money as you guys can tell, but then again, you can make a WS6 and an SS camaro for less than the dealer charges. It's all profit, if it were my company I would charge extra also.
Once again that hood is what makes his company in my opinion, every thing else he is offering looks familer from other companies.

So in other words it's an SS spoiler.

It was an appearance package and could be had on the base Camaro also.
Late 60's it had the flip up headlights http://www.chicagocarexchange.com/in...sp?stknum=3074
and early 70's it was the split bumper front end.

There were some other things but those are the parts that the package was known for.
Re: The Camaro Z29
I dont see why type R is so bad. Ford has the GTR Stang and in 2000 it was pretty sweet i have seen a few in person i really like them. Whats the big deal of a z29R it may not be worthy of R meaning RACEING. It was a marketing ploy to just make the car stand out more. I dont know why he just couldnt call it a mecham z28 though

Every fiberglass company has an SS lookalike spoiler, this one's no different.

Comparison photo. The only difference is the SS spoiler has a smaller upward "lip" than the mecham. But it's still an SS spoiler with 1/2" more fiberglass and a lower taillight placement. Personally, to me, they both look like a mistake. Not a big fan of the spoiler either way.
Compare to the mecham z29R. Totally different than the show car in the original post.

AS you can see, the show-car and the orignal factory SS spoiler are VERY similar. The other photo has kind of a hideaway 3rd brake light, and a slightly higher arc, and less of a flat section underneath so you can see under the spoiler.

Re: The Camaro Z29
This is off their wedsite "Mecham Flush mount HDF rear Wing."
Isn't that High Density Fiber board? Mmmmmm...particle board spoiler.
Yes, I'm sure its F=fiberglass in this case, but it struck me as humorous.

Re: The Camaro Z29
it isn't that bad, little overpriced yes.
Z29R,, I know GM has the RPO for Z28 but I wonder what the 9 and R stand for,,, hmmm, can't seem to find that in any RPO code databases that I have.
From the factory R is OK putting an R badge on a car to me is a little it ricey,, but I think I am a little Ricerphobic and haven't dealt with it yet my tolerance level hasn't been developed yet

Re: The Camaro Z29
like said before, Z29R does not come factory. and i think it is kind of like what us T/A guys do when transforming into a WS6.... to an extent. guys that change their Ta's to WS7 is done quite often, but i must say a "Z29R" sounds quite rediculus. it seems like a rice type(R) thing. but the car looks ok. Bottom line Z29R is non existant. can you slap a badge on your Z28? sure so i suppose is exists..........

Most quality body/paint shops won't touch them. It's damn near impossible to get it to fit right and a quality shop doesn't want work that looks like sh*t with their name on it.
