Cam swap questions, *1998* specific,

Okay, I'm about to order set of LS6 springs from sdpc, but I read the waterpump gaskets are not reusable like the rest of the seals on the GenIII motor for the '98s.

There is supposed to be an up-grade to the resealable waterpump gaskets.

Anyone have a p/n on this? What about the crankshaft pulley bolt?

I need info on those TWO items.

Thanks a lot,
Ben T.

It'd be a good idea to get a new crank seal for the timing cover also. Part # for that is 12585673.

What cam are you swapping to? If you need any more info, let me know. I've done two cam swaps on my '98 thus far.

Greg, I copied your original post. I felt this was very relevant information- exactly what I was looking for.

Re: Cam swap questions, *1998* specific,

This is an MTI B1 camshaft. I've had it and my LS6 intake collecting dust for a long time, and they need to go in.

I plan to run this cam on a stockish program. Only minor changes have been made, my idle and rev-limiter were both raised, emissions deleted, etc.

We'll have to see how it works out. This isn't going in for probably 4 weeks or so though.

The LS6 springs should be fine but I'd keep an eye on the pushrods. With the bigger ramp on that cam over stock, you may bend them, even with the LS6 springs.
Reposted for you Greg. Thanks for your original.

why argue with someone that doesn't listen to people that know more than he does.

You want part numbers..call thunder and order it. They will know the part numbers and may have them in stock..or are you looking for these used also.

I understand what you are saying. You might have only been trying to be helpful, but you come off as slightly confrontational. Your comments might have been relevant, but you should be careful with your word choice.... You sounded a bit jerkish..
