I just got mine in! On the trans setting for the auto, I put a neg setting of 6% on both for all gears. I did this for a start. I took it for a drive, I thought I might get that shake the drink out of your hand, but it shifted smooth. When you GET ON IT, wow, I lost mt rear end in 2nd every time! Before I would get alittle cherp. What do you guys have yours sent on for a stock car(also just put the Whisper lid on ). Sorry for the long post.

Mostly all the mail order (hypertech, predator) programmers add is torque which I think your feeling...When most people including myself tested them at the track they really didnt help a whole lot if any at all

 

And what did you test at the track?? Hyperjunk?
The Predator is a good tool for someone that doesn't want to run to the dyno every time he changes something and who doesn't have the desire to learn to tune himself. I fall into that category and the Pred. works great. Even after the H/C with a custom tune e-mailed to me.

 

So ANTZ, extra torque wont help down the track? The question is what do people w/ this input for the trans part?

 

Never said that...but most of it is usless torque off the line..So where is all the predator users that Actually have proof they gained anything at a track/ or dyno w/ them..When I first installed my hypertech it FELT like I gained 50 hp....then at the track it proved to do nothing..

 

GMHTP had a gain with their predator i think.from what ive read its not as good as EFI live or ls1 edit but it helps.

I gained .1 in the 1/4 spinning through 1st & second gear. After TC and shift kit, had to tone down shifts from predator.

 

what did you set your line pressure(-%) on the trans setting? I put mine at -6%, I'm just trying to see what everbody else has done.

 

You prolly won't see huge gains on a pretty much stock car but once you start modding the tool will help fine tune the car to it's new mods/changes the stock computer isn't used to. Crane/Vinci has a new programmer on the market that seems pretty slick, when the time comes for me tune I might give them a call.

joes buddy had to fix his rig job.(same guy that installed your TC).the guy is an expert trans builder and he couldnt believe the **** he saw.i forgot about him or i wouldve went with him to begin with.

Mr. Driveshaft, i know it, the place w/ the purple LT1 outside all the time...damn that sucks, atleast you got it fixed.

 

my TC leaked.so i had it warrantied and restalled.i blew the **** out of my rear again. :lol i knew that was going to happen so i had 3.73s waiting to go in. posi was destroyed too.

so i just had him fix and install everything at once.i put in a LPE DS too but surprisingly the DS GM warrantied is a pretty strong part.


the rear will go again.its just a matter of time.
