aaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahaaaaaa
stik is full of pride and is always representin'

that is hella cool.. i wish i had more folks like that around where i'm from. Here in california, there is nothing but import and stang abusers. I've seen 4 camaros since I bought mine. 2 RS, 1 z, 1 SS. Isn't it a shame? :>

Gossco95: It's good you think that way. I'm actually impressed you have that mindset. Most "well off" people are arrogant and self-centered. If I had the opportunity you had, I would for sure take it like you are. I'm sure I speak for blackbirdta when I say we aren't hating, we're just stating you're one lucky ****

btw, I'd go with the vette. Nothing against SS's of course, I own one, but chicks nut over vettes because they don't know too much about camaros... as far as I know, they look at a vette and think high roller.

Hey tainted, what part of Cali do you live in because I see Camaros and Vettes everyday! And I live in California.

Wow.. wish my parents would have been willing to buy me a SS or C5 when I was 18. Instead I got a hug, a job, and a car payment book. Then when I moved off to college I got a wave, 2 jobs, a rent payment, a car payment, and 4 years of studying my butt off.

But when I graduated.. I bought my own SS, bought my own motorcycle (which I later sold ), and bought my own house. Something has to be said for knowing you did it on your own and it was not all handed to you.

That being said.. if your parents are footing the bill.. get the Vette.. you will get more return for it in more ways than one..

Edit: Oh.. and either way you are going to be screwed on insurance.. that is why I had to sell the bike.. I was paying 145 a month for the bike and 130 a month for insurance on it .. insurance on my SS is 150 a month and that is with college grad discount, multi policy discount, home owners discount and being 24 y/o with a clean record.

I am pretty sure I was getting screwed royally on the bike insurance.. the guy I bought it from is a friend of mine and he only paid like 30-40 a month for it.. but he was a homeowner and 26 at the time. When I had the bike I was not a homeowner and I dont turn 25 for another couple months. That is part of why I sold it.. the other part is I learned how to ride on it and now I am waiting until probably next year and I am going to try to get a 600RR.. so are so sweet!

am i the only one that isnt trying to get as much money out of my parents as possible?...sure they give me stuff but i dont decide to get the more expensive thing just cuz i can...sure i want a c5, but i'd take the ss now anyway...that way i can look forward to owning the vette later...dont get the c5 just because you can and it costs more although i would love to see the vette's reputation as being a mid life crisis car removed ...take the ss mod it and dream of the vette (then have your parents give me the money they saved jk

Ok ...... talked to the parents last night..... heres what we are going to do .... we are going to go with 99+ Camaro SS for now... cuz that will save us a good $10 grand which will give us alot of room to mod it good..... probably replace the whole exhaust system ..... maybe do some head work..... dunno if I will do much beyond that. Unless you guys now some good ways to get a LS1 running good (im in the LS1 board right? ) But when we get alot more money saved up and when I get out of college or damn near it... ill upgrade to a vette. Maybe see the cash we are saving up go for a new engine for the '81 Vette. Hmmmn... lets see the whole "girl" factor... I dont think I have much to worry in my hometown, there isnt anything worth pickin up Nothin worth to race in town either... best thing ive seen cruise the strip is a 97 Camaro Z28 30th Anniversary.... other than that.. ill pretty much eat up everything. Plus I dont know if Im ready for a Corvette quite yet, my dad had been waiting for his corvette for awhile and finally got in bout 6 years ago .... both cars will be a step up from me being a v6 daily driver. But anyways.. thanks for all the fast input. I appreciate it

EDIT : blackbirdta : you hit the nail on the head pretty good

I live in Montebello. Smal town on the outskirts of Los Angeles. I guess my area is a little more lower class. Right next to East LA if that gives you a better idea of where i'm coming from. The hottest thing I see people rolling around in are ugly, old school mustangs. :P

But anyway, there are only 3 camaro's in my city, one of them being mine, two others being my "soon to be friends." I had to chase them down and ask if they'd be interested in starting a car team w/ me

What do you think of this name: Defcon [9]
bada bing! I think it sounds leet. Let me know!

By the way, bbentley40, your dog owns hard core man! LOL! That face is so g0d damn cute :> I know where you're coming from too! When I turned 18, I was given a pos 70's fiat, an accident 1 month later, a co-signed loan, and $420 /mo car payments with $60 /mo car insurance bills. I have like $80 /mo left over, and guess where that goes.... Gas. Oh well, i'm gonna get like, three jobs this summer :P
